Whether you want to be a more informed citizen or just want to kill some time before 5 on a Friday afternoon, WegoWise has got you covered. With the long weekend ahead of us, you're sure to have lots of ways to fill your time, let us help you get the most of your weekend and the newly crisp fall weather with some ideas for a green holiday weekend.  So peruse our best links, give us some feedback and be sure to share some of the info you just gleaned with other interested parties at the parties you are hopefully attending this weekend. Brought to you by Dan,NateLilyCatherineCasey, and Joanna.

1. Free admission to all National Parks in honor of Veterans Day - To celebrate and honor our nation's veterans, the National Parks Service is offering free admission to any of your 398 national parks.  Whether you're looking for history, wilderness, or both, you're sure to find it in the nearest national park!

2.  Make it a staycation - Instead of increasing the congestion and burning through fossil fuels, travel locally and take advantage of your area's local food, attractions, and events.

3.  Get your house (or apartment!) ready for the cold weather - We all know about spring cleaning to open things up for warm weather, but preparing for the coming chills with energy efficient projects can help save you money and energy, while making your winter cozier than ever.

4. Save on energy bills this winter, knit yourself a sweater! - Why turn up the thermostat when you can bundle up in a sweater (or hat or scarf or socks) of your own design?  Learning to knit makes a great fall hobby, is super trendy these days, and can even get you ready for gift-giving season on the cheap!

5. Get outside! - There are lots of resources online to find walks, bike paths or hikes in your area, or just go for a stroll around the neighborhood and enjoy the changing of the seasons. Exploring your local area helps you learn more about your town, see your home in new ways, and maybe even get a history lesson.
