Big Changes for Boston and Cambridge Benchmarking Compliance

by

This year's deadlines for reporting your buildings' energy use to the cities of Boston (May 15th) and Cambridge (May 1st) are approaching fast. At WegoWise, we're already getting started, and you should, too!

But first, there are some important updates to the laws to be aware of:

BEUDO:

Just last week, the city of Cambridge made the announcement that non-residential buildings 25,000 sq. ft. and above will need to report their energy use this year, a big drop from the previous 50,000 sq. ft. Last year's requirement for multifamily buildings of 50 units or more still applies this time around.

BERDO:

Boston has also lowered its threshold for non-residential buildings from 50,000 sq. ft. and over to 35,000 sq. ft. and over. Boston's requirement for multifamily buildings or buildings over 50,000 sq. ft. or more than 50 units remains the same.

For many owners, these updates mean more reports to file. WegoWise can help! WegoWise provides Boston and Cambridge building owners with hands-free BERDO/BEUDO compliance by interfacing with Portfolio Manager and completing all aspects of the reporting process. Request a quote below.
